Cozy Cuddles for Christmas
Whew..only 1 more day until Christmas! I always find myself still amazed at the magical moments I get to see through my girls’ eyes. I sure do love this time of  year! I’ll admit this is the first Christmas Season I feel I have really gotten the hang of working from home and balancing my family. It may have taken 3 years, but hey, I’ll take it!
We kicked off our Holiday Season by visiting Santa’s Wonderland in College Station, Tx. It is a very “Texan” styled Christmas.  I loved seeing the look on the girls faces as we took a hayride through the beautiful lights. Believe it or not, it was actually chilly that night, so I was happy to have appropriate Texas winter weather!  I’ve been in Texas 12 years and still haven’t gotten used to this weather and it more and likely being 60 degrees or more on Christmas day! I get so excited when I get to use my butt warmer in the car and enjoy some hot cocoa and cuddles with my girls by the fire.

The girls got to visit the Jolly ol’ guy this year, Averee has really hit the age, where toys aren’t much of an interest but she’s not hit that “tween” stage, either. She did ask for a ukelele and a remote control centipede. I tell you this girl always keeps me on my toes. Haddie Grace has asked for a remote control dinosaur and a snuggle puppy. I think it’s safe to say they’ve been on the “nice” list this year.
During the Holiday season, I love to give away items for our loyal and amazing fans, however this year it was really weighing on my heart to give to Texas Children’s Hospital. The girls and I made the trip downtown and donated Believe Pillowcases and Blankets. I got a little lost, as the med center is huge here in Houston, the girls asked lots of questions. I had to explain to them that some of the families we saw have to spend Christmas in the hospital and we are just trying to bring a little joy to them.
A few days ago, I stepped out of my comfort zone and we made homemade cookies and fudge for our neighbors. I really stepped out as my idea of baking has always been a little help from pre-made Nestle Tollhouse! HA! The girls had a blast, mommy let her OCD of messiness go away and they had a little flour food fight in the kitchen. They had fun, mommy had not so much fun cleaning for 2 hours, but hey they made some memories and the cookies actually turned out really good!
I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you. Thank you for allowing me to create some memories for your families. It truly is a blessing to be able to work from home and do a job I love and still be able to be there for my girls. I truly wish you all a wonderful Holiday Season and lots of cozy cuddles with your JDG goodies. Remember a great little quote from Charlie Brown, “It’s not what’s under the Christmas Tree that matters it’s who’s around it.” From our family to yours, wishing you a wonderful Holiday filled with love and memories.
Blessings,
Brooke
